Sports Massage
Athletes of all levels may benefit from
sports massage. There are 4 kinds of sports massage ;
- Pre-event sports massage , a short,
stimulating massage 15 to 45 minutes before the event.
- Post-event sports massage - given
with in a hour or two of the event, to normalise the body tissues.
- Restorative sports massage, given
during training to allow the athlete to train harder and with less injury.
If you think the discomfort is a strain or
sprain then remember RICE then MICE
R- rest
I- ice
C- compression
E- elevation
then change R to M
M- massage - mobilisation
